Dishwasher Job Description

Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, tableware, cooking utensils, prep dishes, etc., by use of machine and manual cleaning methods. You must also maintain the dishwashing area as a clean, safe and sanitary station.  Be able to work as a team and communicate effectively. Have the ability to multitask. Follow sanitation and kitchen safety policies at all times.

General Responsibilities

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes to ensure all debris is removed before sending them through the dish machine
  • Sort and stack clean dishes
  • Put away clean dishes in their proper storage location
  • Check dishwasher chemicals throughout every shift
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize larger items that do not fit in the dish machine by hand
  • Practice proper safety and sanitation procedures at all times
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as directed
  • Take trash out and replace liners. Take linens downstairs and replace bag when full
  • Leave the dish station how you would want to find it. Clean up your station and run all dishes through before you leave. Do not leave a pile of dishes for the next team member to do.
  • Disassemble and reassemble dish machine in order for it to keep operating correctly
  • Adhere to uniform/dress code and proper daily hygiene

Rate of Pay

$7.50-$10.00 per hour
