Food Expediter Job Description

As a food expediter you are the last line of defense out of the kitchen. It is your job to ensure that all food goes out to our guest the way it way requested, properly cooked, correct proportions, and is served quickly.  You must garnish the plates with proper sauces, garnishment, and utensils. If there are no servers to run food, you are responsible for getting that food to the guests’ table. Expediters must communicate between kitchen staff and servers (good communication skills are a must for this position).  Taking to-go orders, putting them in the computer, and packing them up correctly are also required for this position.

General Responsibilities

  • Tickets will get passed to you by the Hot Line
    • Hang Ticket and read it carefully
    • Garnish/Sauce all plates on ticket
    • Place proper utensil on each plate
    • Put all food onto a tray and ensure that all is as requested
    • Give tray to a server when available, or run food and serve when necessary
  • Communicate between kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders
  • Take to go orders. Put the orders in the computer as well as pack them up accurately for the guest
  • Restock the expo station and clean your station after every shift
  • Help the servers and bar staff package left-over food
  • Put away clean dishes during down time
  • Help the servers if needed
  • Adhere to uniform/dress code and proper daily hygiene

Rate of Pay

$8.00-$10.00 per hour
