Prep Cook Job Description

Prep cooks are responsible for daily prep. Be able to work off of a prep list to complete all daily prep. You must have the ability to accurately and consistently follow a recipe. All of our food is made from scratch, and it all starts with the prep cook. This is a vital role in the heart of house. You must be organized, able to manage your time effectively, and able to multitask. Daily cleaning of the kitchen is required. Be able to work as a team and communicate effectively. Have the ability to multitask. Follow sanitation and kitchen safety policies at all times.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow a prep list and prepare all items that are on your list before your shift is over
  • Use and follow recipe cards with every item made
  • Have the ability to cook a wide range of items. You will be using hot line equipment as well as small kitchen appliances
  • Prepare catering items when requested
  • Properly label, date, and store prepared foods
  • Keep all prep coolers clean and organized
  • Clean and sanitize all prep surfaces
  • Keep yourself organized and on task
  • Daily cleaning of your prep area; leave things cleaner than you found them!
  • Adhere to uniform/dress code and proper daily hygiene

Rate of Pay

$8.00-$10.00 per hour
